FRESNO, Calif. — California-based Tarlton Motorsports is expanding its schedule to hit the road during the coming sprint car racing season.
The team will field its familiar No. 21 sprint car with California-born ace Cole Macedo at the wheel in what the team is calling a ‘true outlaw’ schedule.
The team has also received new sponsorship from Sean Dyson and Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions.
“I think this year is going to be awesome, and I am extremely thankful that Tom and Tommy Tarlton have presented me with such a great opportunity to return to the seat of the famed No. 21,” said Cole Macedo, who won last year’s Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park track championship. “I really wasn’t expecting to get back in the Tarlton No. 21 seat on a full-time basis, but with the schedule they put together, and with the support of the Ray Brooks Racing No. 18 team, it was very hard not to accept the offer.
“I am excited to race with two of my good buddies in Drew Warner and Shane Watts, and I know that they have put in a ton of work to make sure we are prepared to run up and down the road. I also want to thank the Dysons for coming on board and really making this whole deal possible. I’m looking forward to representing them, the Tarltons, and all of our partners this year.”

However, Macedo’s days driving the familiar Ray Brooks Racing machine are not over.
When things come to life in California in March, Macedo and Tarlton Motorsports will run a very busy slate at home before Macedo, the younger brother of World of Outlaws ace Carson Macedo, takes off to Ohio to compete with the Ray Brooks Racing team in April and May.
While Macedo is out, Tarlton Motorsports will take a driver by committee approach and fill in races at home with various drivers who have yet to be named at this time.
In June, things ramp back up with Macedo as he will rejoin Tarlton Motorsports at Skagit Speedway as the team will take part in Super Dirt Cup, and then their schedule looks very different than it has in years past.
Led by crew chief Drew Warner, Tarlton Motorsports will head east and compete at some marquee events that include the Kings Royal, the Eldora Million, The Knoxville Nationals and possibly the Knoxville 360 Nationals to go along with other World of Outlaws and High Limit Series events.
From August through September, the team will follow the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car series back West before they end their season in California. In all Macedo and company will run roughly a 50-race slate.

“I am super-excited for this opportunity, and I am really happy to see Cole Macedo get another shot in the Tarlton car,” Warner said. “I have to utmost respect for Tommy Taron and Sean Dyson, so it is very cool to have them come together and lead our team. Both do so much for racing in the United States in Australia, so this will be cool to have them working together, and I am thankful to be a part of it.
“It is cool to be able to carry on the legacy that Tom Tarlton built and I hope we can do the entire family proud.”
