From the order in mid-June to the final delivery in December – my personal order finally arrived home and the person met all my expectations.
I fell in love with Yas Marina in the last generation and with so many other blues to choose from, it was hard to choose but I decided to go for a bold and classic look with a blue voodoo exterior and a tartu interior.
The car is given a full option except for ceramic ceramic and carbon bucket. I do not follow enough to justify ceramic brakes and at 6’2 inch 250, the bucket seats were out of my way as this is my daily driver.
PCD was everything everyone here said it was and I will not disappoint. The main guide Clint was amazing and since I was a solo, I took advantage of multiple runs and laps. I spent about two hours shipping and then went straight to Extreme Color Autospa to wrap XPEL before returning home to NJ.
Compared to the F80, I thought I would miss DCT but to be honest I am not. The throttle is nice and linear and the AWD just eats down the sidewalk. The F80 was a cruel monster that made you love it – the G80 is a subtle beast that draws you on the first ride. I felt like Jerry McGuire with “I Had Launch Control”
But not everything is perfect – with two problems:
First, Harem Cardon’s radio sucks. On the way home, on several occasions, I would lose all bass from the speakers unless I turn the car off completely and put it out of standby for 15 minutes. Listening to anything but tweeters for a 6 hour 12 hour ride was no fun.
Secondly the emission note is .. deterrent to say the least. Now I’m not trying to recreate the sound rage of my F80 with cat-free DPs and M-Performance exhaust, but the G80’s OEM sound is not desirable if I say it in the middle.
But overall this car is a is very A big improvement in all aspects related to the F80, except for the grille that I’m still learning to love
