The Opel Mokka has been on sale in South Africa for less than a month, following its launch in April.
At a starting price of R469,900, the Mokka is a mid-tier crossover offering from Opel, slotting in between the Crossland and the Grandland SUV in terms of price.
Performance
Opel’s latest crossover runs on a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and is paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The powertrain generates 96kW and 230Nm and gives the Mokka a maximum towing capacity of 600kg.
It also allows the Opel’s fuel consumption to average at 6.1l/100km.
Inside, the Mokka comes with automatic climate control, cruise control, a multifunction leather steering wheel, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, blind-spot detection, forward brake assist with pedestrian detection, speed sign recognition, and lane-keep assist.
Around the outside, you’ll also find automatic LED headlights, daytime running lights, folding side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, front fog lights, and 17-inch black alloy wheels.
Finally, the Opel Mokka 1.2T Elegance is offered with a 3-year/120,00km warranty, a 4-year/60,000km service plan, and 3-year/120,000km roadside assistance.
