Hey, whatever happened to …
If it’s a racing helmet from one of the all-time greats, there ‘s a good chance it may have found a home in Tony Stewart’s basement. Stewart, who’s thrown a few helmets in his day, has thankfully held on to quite a few.
Jimmie Johnson hands Tony Stewart the racing helmet worn by Johnson in the 2016 NASCAR Cup season finale at Homestead. That helmet now has a special place in Stewart’s collection.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Doug Boles recently visited the three-time NASCAR Cup Champion and Stewart’s home in Columbus, Indiana. And fortunately for us fans, Boles brought a camera crew.
Stewart simply has the coolest man cave. From his pinball machine collection to custom pool table to a collection of some 350 helmets, this mancave puts most to shame. But what do you expect? After all, he’s Tony Stewart, and we’re not.
Among the helmets on display are helmets from Dale Earnhardt Jr., Dale Sr., as well as stars from IndyCar, F1, short-track racing. There’s even helmets from the world of football and hockey.
Stewart’s most prized helmet might just be the actual helmet worn by Jimmie Johnson when Johnson won his seventh NASCAR Cup championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2016.
Yes. Tony Stewart wins.
