The FIA WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring was not without incident.
The third-place Toyota Gazoo Racing Hypercar clipped another car driven by Julian Andlauer, and as it attempted to make it back to the pits with smoke streaming from the tires, the Toyota, driven by Jose Maria Lopez, smashed head-on into the tire barrier, went airborne and landed on its roof.
Lopez emerged on his own, unhurt, but the FIA WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring was red-flagged with four hours and 30 minutes too go. The green flag was displayed 45 minutes later, and with three hours and 20 minutes to go, the remaining No. 8 Toyota was leading. In LMP2, the No. 23 United Autosports car was ahead.
Note, don’t be fooled. The big crash in the sequence below occurs at the :55 mark of the video.
