2022 Alpina B3: what is it?
For those who don't know, Alpina takes BMW cars and ups the luxury and performance, creating a comfier GT-type product to BMW's often harsher, race-ready M cars.
With a BMW 3 Series facelift around the corner, Alpina has been spotted testing its saloon version of the 3 Series, the B3. There's also a B3 Touring estate available.
We can see the usual camo in the pictures, suggesting the B3 will get the 3 Series' revised grille, new head lights, new front and rear bumper and updated taillights too. The trademark Alpina alloys and quad exhaust pipes are present and correct on this test mule.
Inside, we can expect Alpina to take BMW's new curved dash screen, just like the one coming for the new 3 Series. There's be the usual trim and equipment upgrades too.
2022 Aplina B3: what is it powered by?
Although the B3 is likely to look different inside and out, we expect its engine to stay the same.
That means a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo straight-six petrol engine producing 462hp and 700Nm of torque. Via an eight-speed automatic gearbox and AWD, the B3 can crack 62mph from a standstill in just 3.8 seconds and carry on to 188mph.
2022 Alpina B3: when will it be on sale?
There has been no word from Alpina on when this facelifted B3 will be going on sale, but expect it to be revealed in early 2022 and on sale no long afterwards.
2022 Alpina B3: how much will it cost?
There have been no confirmed prices for this facelifted Alpina B3 just yet, but we don't expect a huge jump from the current B3 prices.
The B3 Saloon starts at £66,450 currently, so a new starting price of around £68,000 is a safe bet. The B3 Touring estate currently starts at £67,950 and could cost from around £69,000 next year.
