1. Lotus Emira
Lotus is a company going through huge change. We've seen its Evija hypercar, but next up is the Emira, which is a direct replacement for the firm's big-selling Elise.
The Emira will be revealed in full on 6th July 2021, but so far we know its styling will take inspiration from the Evija, it will be launched with a combustion engine and there will be a choice of two engines going forward. Lotus has ruled out hybrid power.
2. Toyota GR86
Toyota's GT86 has won fans across the globe for its simple sports car recipe of an engine at the front, drive to the back, manual gearbox and a couple of seats in the middle.
For a while it looked like Toyota may not produce a second generation, but happily, the now-named GR86 got the green and light and will be revealed at this year's festival. It gets the same layout, a larger 2.4-litre engine and is only a touch heavier than before. All very good news indeed.
3. BMW 2 Series Coupe
BMW has teased pictures of its new 2 Series and allowed prototype drives, but the car will be revealed in full at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
So far we know it will be rear-wheel-drive, although all-wheel-drive is likely to be an option too, plus four and six-cylinder engines will be available. A range-topping M model will arrive later with a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system as standard.
4. Chevrolet Corvette
The latest C8 Corvette was launched in 2019, moving its V8 engine from the front to the middle and transforming the way it looked and handled.
Left-hand drive cars have been on the road in the US for some time, and a few imported cars have been seen in the UK too. However, there's a 'secret' car being revealed on the supercar stand at Goodwood this year, and from the details given so far, it's very likely to be a right-hand drive C8. Watch this space.
5. Genesis G70 Shooting Brake
Genesis has begun its assault on the premium marques of Europe, releasing its G80 saloon and GV80 large SUV already. Next up is the G70 saloon and this, the Shooting Brake estate version of the same car.
The G70 Shooting Brake will get the same engines and gearbox as the G70, but will be more spacious and practical, with a boot that's 40% bigger than the G70's according to Genesis.
6. BMW i4
The new BMW i4 isn't launched in the UK officially until November 2021, but you'll get a glimpse of it at Goodwood Festival of Speed – the first time it's been seen in the UK full stop.
The i4 is a pure-electric four-door that will travel up to 367 on a charge, taking the fight to Tesla and marking BMW's shift to electric before 2030.
7. Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is not a slow car, both in a straight line or around corners. However, Manthey Racing thought they could improve it, coming up with the GT2 RS MR.
It meant business, because the MR immediately took the production car record at The Ring, and you'll be able to see it on the supercar stage at the festival this year.
8. Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series
The most extreme version of Mercedes' AMG GT is this, the AMG GT R Black Series. It's powered by the same V8 as the regular AMG GT, but produces 730hp here and benefits from weighing less too.
It's a rare car and only a handful have been delivered to owners in the UK so far. This'll be the general public's first chance to get up close to one on Goodwood's supercar stand.
9. Everrati Signature Porsche 911
Electrifying classic cars tends to split opinion, especially when it comes to class 911s. Nevertheless, Everrati has taken a 911 964 and swapped its engine for batteries and an electric motor.
The result is 440bhp and 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, but all a price tag of more than £200,000. If you'd like to buy one, you can see it on the supercar stand next week.
10. BMW iX
The less said about the BMW iX's styling the better, but if you'd like to see it for yourself, the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the first chance to see the iX in the metal in the UK.
The iX will cost from just under £70,000 in the UK and will be able to travel up to 380 miles on a charge. Its interior is much easier on the eye and features the latest version of BMW's Drive infotainment.
