Indian automaker Tata Motors has revealed the Curvv electric SUV concept. The production version of the Tata Curvv will arrive in 2024 and will sit just above the Nexon SUV in the carmaker’s lineup.
Tata Curvv Design & Features
The Tata Curvv features a very sleek design with a coupe roof. The concept SUV features very short overhangs on both ends. Up at the front, the Curvv features a ‘floating bonnet’ setup with the LED daytime running light running across the width of the concept.
The front bumper is quite an angular unit and features lights on either side. While the grille section is closed off, the Curvv does feature a large air intake which should help keep the powertrain cool.
The sides of the Curvv feature a rather clean design. The chunky wheel arches play host to large alloy wheels which feature aero bits to keep the airflow clean.
At the rear, the Tata Curvv concept features an edge to edge lightbar for the taillights. Brake lights are also seen on the rear windscreen along with a small vertical unit on the rear bumper. Speaking about the rear bumper of the Curvv, it follows the design cues seen up at the front with vents on either side.
Step inside the Curvv and you’re greeted by a minimalist dashboard section that features a single section mimicking the external lights running across its entire width.
The dashboard is dominated by two displays – one for the driver’s information and the other for the infotainment setup which will also allow the car to get over the air updates. Also seen are the touch panel with controls for the climate control and other systems along with the new two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls.
The Curvv concept electric SUV is our first look at Tata’s next generation of EVs. The powertrain on the new Curvv is an evolution of the current Ziptron setup.
Tata claims that the second generation electric vehicle platform “will be advanced, flexible and capable of offering multi-powertrain options.” The company claims that “products on this architecture will be crafted to deliver a higher range while retaining the credibility and reliability standards set by the Generation 1 products powered by Ziptron.”
Tata Motors also revealed that the Curvv will feature a certified range between 400 and 500 kilometres. Tata Motors claims that the Curvv will support both vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging along with faster charging speeds.
