Sales of Tata Motors have been very positive this year as multiple models become a popular choice in their respective segments.
Apart from that, increased public awareness regarding the safety of automobiles has cemented the reputation of Tata Motors.
Tata Nexon (14,315 units)
The Tata Nexon is currently the best selling SUV in India as Tata Motors managed to sell 14,315 units in March 2022. It is also the first Indian SUV to score a 5-Star safety rating from Global-NCAP.
In terms of numbers, YoY sales for Tata Nexon has increased by more than 64 per cent, whereas MoM sales have increased by almost 17 per cent.

Tata Punch (10,526 units)
Though Tata Punch is a relatively new product in India, the SUV quickly gained traction in the Indian automobile market and the company managed to sell 10,526 units in March 2022.
Thanks to this strong sales performance, MoM sales have increased by almost 10 per cent as Tata Motors managed to sell 934 units more in March 2022 compared to sales in February 2022.

Tata Altroz (4,727 units)
Tata Altroz is the third best selling model under Tata’s current product portfolio. Though Tata Motors sold 4,727 units in March 2022, YoY sales for the premium hatchback has reduced by more than 37 per cent.
Looking into sales figures, Tata Motors sold 7,550 units of Altroz premium hatchbacks in March 2021 and 5,011 units in February 2022.
Tata Tigor (4,007 units)
On the other hand, the sales of Tata Tigor has witnessed a YoY sales increase of more than 91 per cent as the company managed to sell 4,007 units of the sedan in March 2022. However, MoM sales have declined by 2 per cent.
In terms of numbers, Tata Motors sold 2,097 units of Tigor sedan in March 2021 and 4,091 units in February 2022.
Tata Tiago (4,002 units)
Though the Tata Tiago has been a consistent seller for Tata Motors for quite some time, YoY sales for the hatchback is down by more than 41 per cent and MoM sales is down by almost 11 per cent as the company sold just 4,002 units of the hatchback in March 2022.
Speaking about sales numbers, Tata Motors sold 4,489 units of Tiago hatchback in February 2022, whereas the company sold 6,893 units in March 2021.
Tata Harrier (2,491 units)
Tata Harrier is a very important SUV in Tata Motors’ product portfolio, and the company has sold 2,491 units of this SUV in March 2022. Moreover, YoY sales have also increased by more than 9 per cent.
However, MoM sales have reduced by almost 5 per cent as the company managed to sell 128 more units in February 2022.
Tata Safari (2,227 units)
The flagship model of Tata Motors is the Safari and Tata Motors has sold 2,227 units of this SUV in March 2022, resulting in a YoY sales increase of almost 4 per cent.
In comparison, MoM sales of the SUV has also increased by more than 16 per cent as the company could only sell 1,919 units in February 2022.
Thoughts About Tata Motors Sales Performance In India
Tata Motors has sold a total of 42,295 units of its vehicles in March 2022, making it the third best selling car brand in India. Apart from that, it was only a few thousands units shy from taking the second spot from Hyundai motors.
Overall, Tata Motors seem to be on an upward trajectory with YoY sales increasing by more than 42 per cent.
