Skoda has teased its new Modern Solid design philosophy and this new design philosophy from the Czech automaker is most likely to be unveiled later this year.
According to some reliable sources, this new design philosophy of the Skoda will be initially used on the Czech automaker’s upcoming electric cars.
According to Mr Thomas Schäfer (CEO, Skoda), the upcoming Modern Solid design philosophy encapsulates the rapidly changing demands of the modern customers and allows the brand to align more closely with the customer’s lifestyles.
From the released teaser image of the upcoming Modern Solid design theme, it could be said that the upcoming electric vehicles from Skoda will look very interesting with their sharp and angular lines.
Apart from that, the car on the teaser image appears to have been using thin vertical LED headlights and uses a rectangular glossy black panel instead of a traditional front grille. The completely sealed-off grille also confirms that the future vehicles under this design theme will be predominantly electric vehicles.
One of the most distinctive design features of the Modern Solid design theme to the current design theme of the Skoda cars is the lack of prominent shoulder lines on the side of the car.
While this design philosophy may seem odd as the shoulder line gives the vehicle a lot of muscular appeal, the new Modern Solid design theme seems to be quite unique and powerful in its own way.
Apart from this, the Czech automaker’s new Modern Solid design language adds squared-off wheel arches and upright rear quarter windows. This gives will give the upcoming Skoda EVs a somewhat boxy yet unique silhouette.
Moreover, reflecting the design of the headlights, the taillamps on the new Modern Solid design theme seems to use vertical thin strip of LEDs.
Speaking about Skoda Auto India, the Czech automaker had been struggling to get traction in the Indian automotive market for quite some time and the launch of the Skoda Kushaq has been a game-changer for Skoda in the country.
Apart from that, the launch of Skoda Slavia also helped boost the sales numbers to more than 4,000 units in February 2022.
Also, the new Skoda Kushaq is the first vehicle under the Volkswagen Group to be manufactured in India with the India 2.0 business strategy and thanks to this aggressive business strategy, the Volkswagen Group will be able to work more profitable in India.
To make business more profitable under the new strategy, 95 per cent of the production will be localised to cut production costs and increase profits for the automaker.
Diving into numbers, Skoda Auto India sold a total of 4,503 units of its cars in February 2022 and in comparison, Skoda only managed to sell just 853 units in February 2021 – Resulting in a YoY sales increase of more than 427 per cent.
