Skoda is gearing up to launch the Slavia in India in March, but cars have already started reaching dealerships.
The Slavia is the second model that is part of Skoda’s India 2.0 project. It will compete with the Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the mid-size sedan segment.
The Skoda Slavia is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which it shares with the Kushaq. It will be offered in three variants: Active, Ambition and Style.
The Slavia comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 2-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats in the front, wireless charging and 6 airbags.
Powering the mid-size sedan is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 113 BHP / 178 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor producing 148 BHP / 250 Nm. These are the same engines that are available in the Kushaq. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG.
