SEAT has unveiled the eScooter 125, an all-new and all-electric moped for the UK market.
This is the first type of electric moped for the Spanish automobile company, and “marks a significant step” in answering the demands of urban mobility, according to the company.
As SEAT’s first electric moped in the UK, the eScooter 125 is described as “a definitive next step on [the company’s] electrification journey.”
Richard Harrison, the managing director of SEAT UK, says: “With the UK Government’s 2030 deadline to consider, a two-wheeled electric vehicle is the perfect way to evolve the SEAT offering and move away from the conventional.”
Priced at £4,996 with the government’s OLEV EV Grant included, SEAT describes the eScooter 125 as “equivalent to a 125cc motorcycle” in peak power and has a range of up to 85 miles (137km), which is “an affordable alternative for those looking to move through the city with ease .”
The new scooter features a 9 kW electric motor and has a removable battery for a simple, speedy charging solution. Surprisingly, the eScooter 125 also packs a regenerative braking system for improved range.
According to SEAT MÓ, eScooter 125 owners will also be offered a selection of accessories including a helmet, winter and summer gloves, and a “Cosmo Connected” safety system. That safety system comprises a removable and adaptable rear light for all types of helmets that, naturally, also connects to a mobile APP. It provides visual safety signals through the collaboration of the brake and warning light, further, gives emergency calls when an accident happens.
SEAT MÓ, if you’re unfamiliar, is a subsidiary of SEAT UK, and specializes in “urban mobility products and solutions.”
