Rivian and F-150 Lightning rival teased again ahead of 2024 debut
RAM has released yet another couple of teaser images of its upcoming 2024 RAM 1500 EV pick-up ahead of its 2024 launch. The latest 15-second teaser shared on YouTube gives us our clearest look yet at the all-electric pick-up truck’s imposing snout.
The frontal styling is once again dominated by its double stacked LED daylight running laps and its huge illuminated ‘RAM’ logo in place of where you’d normally find a grille on a combustion-powered vehicle.
Other takeaways from the latest tease, is the zero-emission RAM truck will also feature a double-bubble roof and, what looks like, a clamshell front bonnet that is set to provide access to a spacious frunk. It’s also just possible to spot its angular design and prominent wheel arches that all add up to an aggressively designed truck.
Built to battle it out with the likes of next year’s Ford F-150 Lightning and the Chevrolet Silverado EV, we already know that the RAM will be based on the Stellantis’ all-new STLA Frame architecture that has been created for large trucks and SUVs and SUVs.
Designed to package batteries and inverters needed for a large electric pick-up, the STLA will support an 800-volt tech and offer vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-load capability. It’s thought the RAM will offer a two-wheel drive version with a single 150kW motor and dual-motor versions with around 330kW. At the top of the tree will be the TRX version that will employ two- or, even, three motors to produce more than 650kW.
RAM Trucks has yet to reveal precisely when it will launch its 1500 EV but it’s thought early 2024 is likely.
