Come May and will debut the updated 2022 Proton Saga. Production of the yet again enhanced Proton Saga is currently underway at Proton’s Shah Alam facility.
As seen in spyshots of the newly enhanced Saga, the affordable A-segment sedan is poised to receive updates such as Proton’s latest circular logo as well as keyless entry.
Now, a screenshot purporting to show the updated Saga’s specs have surfaced on social media sites, highlighting all the improvements.

Starting with the base Saga 1.3L Standard MT variant (yes, the manual lives on), it will receive the new circular Proton logo, new climate control panel, centre panel for the infotainment system, and revised side air-conditioning vents.
Stability control will be extended to more variants now
Then there’s the Saga 1.3L Standard AT, which adds stability control, traction control, and Hill Hold Assist (HHA) to the mix. As the name suggests, this variant swaps out the 5-speed manual transmission in favour of a -sourced 4-speed torque converter automatic.
This infotainment system could be revamped
Moving up the hierarchy is the 1.3L Premium AT variant. Here, new additions include revised 15-inch alloy wheels as well as an updated 7-inch infotainment system. Said infotainment system could be the same unit found in the 2022 and 2022 .
This should be the new Premium S variant, evident from its variant-specific bodykit and keyless entry system
Last but certainly not the least is the new Saga 1.3L Premium S AT variant. For this new range-topper, it gets a host of features such as auto folding side mirrors, different 15-inch alloy wheels, front bumper and side skirts, bootlid spoiler with trunk release button.
But that’s not all, the Premium S variant also gets a revised instrument cluster, leatherette steering wheel, semi leatherette seats, keyless entry with engine push start button (finally!), and interior lighting with auto dimming.

As before, power is expected to be derived from a naturally aspirated 1.3-litre petrol engine that does 95 PS and 120 Nm. Whether or not the Malaysian-spec, updated Saga will use a 34-cc smaller engine remains to be seen.
What about price?

Prices of the current Proton Saga start from RM 32,800 for the 1.3L Standard MT variant, while the 1.3L Standard AT is priced from RM 35,800. The range-topping 1.3L Premium AT variant is priced from RM 39,800.
With the enhanced Saga, Proton will be including stability control on cheaper variants, as the 1.3L Standard AT will be fitted with this feature. It remains to be seen how much the updated Saga will be priced at.
For reference, the Saga’s core rival, the 2022 , is priced between RM 33,456 to RM 48,356. Stability control-equipped variants of the Bezza are priced from RM 42,551 onwards.
