PETALING JAYA: PLUS Malaysia Berhad is offering a 20% toll rebate for highway users who pay electronically on select PLUS highways on Nov 10, in conjunction with Deepavali.
PLUS Malaysia Berhad CEO Mohammad Fuad Khusairi said those who paid their toll using PLUSMiles cards, Touch ‘n Go cards or SmartTAGs will be able to enjoy the discount if driving a Class 1 vehicle (light vehicles with two axles and three or four wheels except taxi).
“The toll rebate can be enjoyed the whole day and is not restricted to a particular time frame,” Fuad said.
However, he added that drivers would still be required to pay the full amount on the day, but that the rebate can be redeemed when they reload their electronic cards at all PLUS customer service centres between Dec 15 and March 14, 2016.
Highways where the rebate will be in effect include the North-South Expressway (NSE), the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE), the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Crossing (Linkedua).
The toll rebate, however, will not be given to those paying toll at the Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Penang Bridge toll plazas.
PLUS expects traffic on the NSE to increase by 8% to 1.4 million vehicles every day between Nov 6 and 15, compared with 1.3 million on normal days.
