Buying a new VW Caddy using a vehicle finance plan will see you pay R7,730 per month for the entry-level model.
VW South Africa announced pricing for the new Caddy last week, with models starting at the following:
- Caddy Cargo – R404,000
- Caddy Kombi – R412,100
- Caddy – R484,200
VW said the latest Caddy will also be available in “Maxi” versions, which will add over R80,000 to the price tag of your chosen model.
The new Caddy features a more sporty exterior compared to its predecessor, new radio and infotainment systems, LED interior lights, and a roof vent for improved air conditioning.
Optional extras include a panoramic sunroof, a removable towbar, 16-inch “Wien” alloy wheels, a park-assist programme, a rear-view camera, and a trailer manoeuvring system.
Powering the range is either a 1.6-litre, petrol engine – or a 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel motor. Both are then paired to a six-speed manual transmission.
It must be noted that the petrol motor is only available in the short-wheelbase models, while the diesel engine is available in all derivatives.
Monthly instalments
To work out how much you will pay per month in instalments on the VW Caddy, we can put its starting price of R404,000 into the formula below.
- Car Price – R404,000
- Payment Term – 60 terms (5 years)
- Interest – 9.5%
- Deposit – 10%
- Balloon – No balloon payment
- Extras – No optional extras
The result is a monthly finance payment of R7,730.
The total amount of interest you will pay on this finance agreement is then R94,890.
Buyers will also need to take insurance premiums and fuel costs into account when planning their purchase.
In terms of services and maintenance, the Caddy and Caddy Maxi are sold with a 3-year/120,000km warranty.
The rest of the line-up comes with a 2-year/unlimited kilometre warranty with service intervals set at every 15,000km.
