Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in March 2022.
BMW X4 Facelift
BMW will be launching its X4 facelift in the Indian market sometime this month. The German carmaker has already started accepting pre-bookings for the same.
The new BMW X4 facelift will be based on the new X3 that was launched earlier this year. It could be offered with the same petrol and diesel engines as the X3. These include a 2.0-litre petrol producing 248 BHP and 350 Nm and a 3.0-litre diesel churning out 282 BHP and 650 Nm. Both engines are likely to be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2022 Lexus NX350h
Lexus has announced that its 2022 NX350h SUV will go on sale in India from March 9, 2022. The new SUV will be offered in three variants and will get a host of cosmetic updates and feature additions.
The 2022 Lexus NX350h will be powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors that deliver a combined output of 240 BHP.
2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
Mercedes-Benz will be launching the 2022 Maybach S-Class in India on March 3, 2022. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be based on the W223 S-Class. It will be offered in two variants: S580 and S680.
The S580 is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, producing 496 BHP and 700 Nm. The S680 comes with a 6.0-litre V12 that makes 603 BHP and 900 Nm. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
2022 MG ZS EV
MG is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of the ZS EV in India on March 7, 2022.
The new MG ZS EV facelift will come with a bunch of cosmetic updates, both inside & out. It will also feature a larger 51 kWh battery pack, offering 480 km of range. MG is also said to offer the ZS EV facelift with features such as ADAS, borrowed from its petrol-powered sibling.
Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI
While Skoda has launched the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI version in the Indian market, it is yet to launch the top-spec version powered by the bigger 1.5-litre TSI engine. The pricing for the Skoda Slavia 1.5L TSI will be announced on March 3, 2022.
The 1.5-litre TSI engine on the Slavia produces 148 BHP and 250 Nm and is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Tata Altroz DCA
Tata Motors has opened bookings for the automatic variants of the Altroz premium hatchback. The Tata Altroz DCA (Dual-Clutch Automatic) will go on sale soon, with deliveries confirmed to begin from mid-March 2022.
The new Tata Altroz variant will be powered by the same 1.2-litre NA petrol producing 85 BHP and 113 Nm, paired with the new DCA transmission.
2022 Toyota Glanza Facelift
The 2022 Toyota Glanza is essentially the rebadged version of the Baleno facelift that went on sale recently. While an exact launch date is yet to be announced, Toyota is expected to introduce the Glanza facelift in the Indian market sometime this month.
The new 2022 Toyota Glanza will carry forward similar design changes to the new Baleno. It will also use the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 89 BHP and 113 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.
Toyota Hilux Pickup
Toyota could launch the Hilux pickup sometime in March 2022, although an exact launch date is yet to be officially announced. The carmaker opened bookings for the Hilux back in January and managed to receive an overwhelming response, forcing Toyota to temporarily halt bookings for the pickup in India.
The new Toyota Hilux will be powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 201 BHP and 500 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission unit. It will also come with a four-wheel-drive system, an electronic differential lock & a limited-slip differential.
Volkswagen Virtus (Unveil)
Although not a launch, Volkswagen will unveil a new mid-size sedan for the Indian market, called the Virtus. The new Volkswagen Virtus will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, same as the Skoda Slavia and will replace the ageing Vento in the brand’s Indian lineup.
It will also carry forward the same engines as the Skoda Slavia, which include 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI options. The engines will come with a choice of either a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The Volkswagen Virtus will be unveiled on March 8, 2022.
