New concours event to attract up to 100 iconic vehicles on April 1-3, a week out from Aussie F1 GP
Watches of Switzerland has been announced as the presenting partner of the 2022 Motorists Concours d’Elegance that will be held on April 1-3 at the Pt Leo Estate on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
Set in the estate’s 135-hectare Sculpture Park, the event is being billed as the first of its kind with “up to 100” of the “greatest automobiles in history” on display “alongside a collection of the world’s finest contemporary art and a selection of the most desirable luxury timepieces”.
The event is being held the weekend prior to the 2022 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, meaning car fans can soak up a huge amount of motoring history and sport within the space of a week.
Watches of Switzerland managing director Sam van der Griend said the inaugural Motorists Concours d’Elegance event will be “truly world-class and will gain international attention”.
“Australia’s passion for motoring and classic cars is matched with its enthusiasm and appreciation of fine watchmaking, making this the perfect partnership for Watches of Switzerland,” he said.
“We look forward to sharing the beauty of the Pt Leo Estate vineyard and its surrounding region, the classic cars and the amazing sculpture park with Australia and beyond … our clients share a passion for the arts and motoring”.
Melbourne is fast becoming a go-to location for auto shows early this year following last week’s announcement of the Melbourne JDM Festival 2022 that’s running on March 19.
