A luxury campervan with two floors that also has its own elevator and sundeck has been unveiled by Chinese automaker Maxus, with a hefty recommended retail price of ¥2.7m Chinese Yuan (£300,000 GBP).
The SAIC Maxus Life Home V90 Villa Edition has an expandable roof that extends upwards to unveil an entire second floor including a balcony on which people can step out and take in the view from wherever the vehicle is parked – and has a raised-platform lift built-in to take you up there.
The distinctive premium motorhome has a number of other tricks up its sleeve to boost the interior space of the vehicle by also using slide-out walls which expand when it is parked up.
The aeronautical-inspired vehicle has an awning that can be illuminated at night and the windows – using LCD technology – are adjustable between clear and opaque in case passengers or guests in the sunroom desire some privacy, and it has LED lighting running throughout activated by both touchscreen and voice-activated controls.
The ground floor of the RV provides a healthy 215 square feet of living space, but once the powered roof is extended out, an additional 133 square feet can be enjoyed in the striking rooftop sunroom.
A spacious sleeping berth sits directly above the driver's cab while in the back there's even room for an L-shaped couch and a good-sized kitchen area which includes a stove and an oven.
The RV also has a fridge and sink, while in the back of the vehicle, there is a fully functional bathroom complete with a shower.
However, as things stand, Maxus' revolutionary vehicle is only available to purchase in China, so don't expect to see one at any European campsites anytime soon.
