As new car prices stay high, budgets seem to increase. This list focuses on the least boring sports cars under $65,000. Buyers can still get a fun-to-drive sports car while on a budget, and some of these are limited edition. As the world moves toward an electric vehicle future, you might want to buy one of these to squirrel away for the future. Keep an eye for a good deal on sports cars for sale in your area, or even online these days with websites like Cars & Bids or Bring a Trailer.

The least boring sports car under budget is the Porsche 718 Cayman

The 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman sports car on a highway | Porsche AG

That’s right; you can get a 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman for under $65,000 these days. MotorTrend says the 2021 718 Cayman starts at $61,250, but buyers can opt for the six-speed manual for only $3,210. Still under budget! The Cayman is a rear-wheel-drive mid-engine sports car powered by a turbo flat-four that gets 300 hp at 6,500 rpm. Plus, 280 lb-ft of torque to keep things moving. That’s one of the least boring sports cars – period.

Price: $61,250

Another one of the least boring sports cars, the Toyota GR Supra A91 Edition

The 2021 Toyota GR Supra A91 Edition is quite far under budget but about as fun as sports cars get. The A91 Edition is a limited production model that only saw 1,000 examples. It comes with the 382 hp turbo inline-six engine paired with an automatic transmission. The GR Supra A91 Edition also has revised damper tuning, upgraded bracing, and power steering system changes. It is small but fun to drive, especially with the Driver Assist package for $1,195. That puts the price tag of the Toyota GR Super at $56,985 out the door.

Price: $55,790

The last attractive one in the bunch, the BMW M2 Competition

You can’t have a list of fun cars without a Chevrolet Corvette

You didn’t think this list could sustain without a Corvette, did you? The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a V8 engine making 490 hp. The 2021 Corvette also has a zero to 60 mph time of 2.8 seconds, which is plenty of power for fun and whatever else you might encounter. If you want to add on some more options, the Competition Sport bucket seats will run you $995, and the upgraded infotainment system will run you $1,795. That still makes this one of the least boring sports cars under $65,000!

Price: $59,995

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is a limited edition sports car

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 still sits under budget if the Corvette isn’t your style. The Mustang Shelby GT350 has 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque with a redline of 8,250 rpm. That makes it the highest revving V8 engine in production right now, which might be a thing of the past in a few years. The GT500 also replaced the GT350 for 2021, so this is the last year to get it. The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 comes with a six-speed manual standard, but the $2,000 tech package is worth it.

Price: $61,635

Sports cars seem to be turning into collector’s items right before our eyes. Some of these options are limited editions from previous year’s lineups, which means these sports cars will be hard to find soon. If you have $65,000 lying around, why not pick up a new weekend car?
