Force Motors has modified the Gurkhas as per the requirements of the police department.
The Kerala State police have officially inducted 49 Force Gurkha SUVs into their department. The vehicles were recently handed over to the Additional Director, General of Police in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Gurkhas are equipped with high-intensity rooftop flashing lights and a siren. The seating configuration has been modified as per the requirement of the police department. The vehicles also feature Kerala State Police department emblems.
The new Gurkha was launched in September last year. The off-roader is powered by a 2.6-litre diesel engine that produces 90 BHP and 250 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a four-wheel-drive system. The Gurkha also gets a low range gearbox and a locking differential.
