Chambers hails from Hudson Valley, New York and has been featured on America’s Got Talent: Extreme. She is one of nine drivers from preseason tests at Inde Motorsports Ranch in Arizona and at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain, selected to join the W Series field for 2022. In addition to the nine standouts from the preseason test, the top-eight finishers in the 2021 W Series standings were also invited to return.
Chambers is one of four drivers who will be making their W Series debut this season, along with 18-year-old Tereza Babickova from Czach Republic, 19-year-old Emely De Heus of the Netherlands, 17-year-old Bianca Bustamante of the Philippines and 16-year-old Juju Noda of Japan.
Chadwick, 23, has parlayed her W Series success into a development driver role for the Williams F1 team.
“In the short time we have already spent working together, I have been blown away by both drivers’ professionalism, skill, determination, and calmness under pressure,” Jenner said. “Jamie is the best possible benchmark for Chloe who I know will keep the defending champion on her toes throughout the season. With all those attributes, plus the support they will get from me and the rest of the Jenner Racing Team, they have every chance of achieving success this year.”
Chambers is a up-and-coming racer who made her U.S. F1 Championship debut last year. She finished 26th in the season standings with a best finish of seventh at Brainerd, Minnesota.
“Jamie Chadwick sets a benchmark both in and outside of the car with her professional approach, and she is someone I’ve looked up to for a long time,” Chambers said. “Caitlyn Jenner is one of the greatest athletes of all time, so I can’t think of two better people to work with and learn from at this stage in my career. It is difficult to overcome the perceptions of being a female in motorsport, but that drives me to continue to learn and win, and it’s fantastic to have great people in my corner.
“I remember watching F1 races with my dad when I was small, then I asked if I could try karting, and everything just clicked—it was the greatest feeling in the world. I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point, but this is just the beginning. My dream is to compete in F1 and the Indy 500, and this opportunity with W Series takes me a giant step closer towards realizing it.”
The W Series is a support series to Formula 1 and will race on eight Formula 1 weekends in 2022. The W Series kicks off its season during the F1 Miami Grand Prix weekend, March 6-8.
