Israel’s Optibus, a Saas platform for public transport planning, scheduling, rostering, and operations, has announced the acquisition of Trillium, a US company helping transit operators and agencies keep riders informed. Trillium will become Optibus’ Global Center for Data Excellence, and operate as an Optibus subsidiary.
Trillium’s products and services are used by more than 350 transit operators and state and federal agencies across the US and Canada.
The acquisition diversifies Optibus’ service offering to include Trillium’s data-centric products and services.
Amos Haggiag, CEO and co-founder of Optibus, says: “Our acquisition of Trillium accelerates Optibus towards its vision of an all-encompassing, end-to-end software platform for daily transportation operations. We are committed to realizing that vision through the development of cutting-edge technology alongside organic business developments and corporate development initiatives that enable us to work with industry leaders like Trillium.”
“Open data systems are what drives public transport forward,” adds Aaron Antrim, founder and CEO of Trillium. “By joining Optibus, Trillium will integrate its data-centric offerings into an end-to-end software platform for public transportation operations, enabling us to continue offering excellent support and consultancy to transit agencies and state and federal DoT customers in North America.”
Founded in 2014, Optibus powers complex transit operations in over 1,000 cities around the world, planning and scheduling the movement of vehicles and drivers to improve the quality and reliability of transit service.
