She’s not your typical trucker, and that may be what’s so appealing about her content. She shares everything from life on the road to new rigs and incredible hauls. According to Trucking and the American Trucking Association, only about 7% of all U.S. truckers are women right now. It’s a lonely and dangerous job that is reported to be lacking in proper pay, considering today’s risks involved. One woman took her earning potential into her own hands and her truck-driving adventures to YouTube.
Meet Angelica Larsson, a Swedish trucker who’s officially ranked as the world’s leading “trucking influencer,” according to Business Insider. The 31-year-old set out to share her over-the-road journeys as a way to inspire more women to consider truck driving careers. She created a YouTube channel and contributes with vlog content that has done more than she ever expected.

She has earned over 321,000 subscribers to date and isn’t letting up anytime soon. Larsson admitted in an interview that she makes around $6,000 each month, which is double what she earns as a trucker.
Originally, Larsson started posting fitness-related YouTube videos back in 2014. However, as she learned very quickly, her subscribers were more interested in her job as a truck driver. She realized it was “a little odd” for a tiny, five-foot-tall woman to be navigating dangerous wintery road conditions and operating heavy machinery. So, her vlogging took a turn to showcase more of her life as a trucker. She can do it all, from driving snow plows, maneuvering icy mountain paths in reverse, and steering bulldozers.
Some of her most popular YouTube vlog segments are hitting well over 300,000 views, including one she calls “CAT 980 to Finland” from a few months ago. In another YouTube vlog, Larsson showcases a “Mercedes Electric Truck,” and this video has already logged more than 400,000 views. You can even watch her remove a water ball cap with a forklift, to demonstrate her mad skills for the technical side of her job.

Still, there are other trucker career options that Truck Driver Academy says pay the absolute most. Oversized load haulers and owner-operator drivers round out the bottom half of this top-paying trucker list.
Ice road truck driving is so dangerous there are reality television shows about the daunting routes involved. These truckers can earn anywhere from $80,000 to $250,000 every season. Tanker drivers also make this high-paying trucker list, with earning potential of up to $99,500 because of the dangerous cargo involved. Along those same risky loads come hazmat truckers, taking home upwards of $90,000 annually.
Angelica Larsson’s YouTube channel allows the world to get a glimpse of what it’s like to be a female truck driver. And as she continues to grow her channel, she’s likely to inspire other women to get into the career. While earning $6,000 every month is a nice perk, empowering women from behind the wheel of a big rig has always been Larsson’s primary objective. She even admitted saving all that YouTube cash with plans to travel and mentor young women one day.
