KUALA LUMPUR: Next Bike, the exclusive distributor of Ducati in Malaysia, welcomed Ducati Corse MotoGP riders Andrea ‘Dovi’ Dovizioso and Andrea ‘The Maniac’ Iannone who autographed two limited edition Monster 821 Ducati Corse MotoGP.
The meet and greet was held for the ‘Ducatisti’ (fans of the Ducati brand) at Publika Hartamas where the riders autographed other merchandise, memorabilia and even riding gear brought by fans.
With the autographs on the tail of both bikes, the new owners will be selected via a random ballot some time in December for the individuals who have expressed interest in purchasing the bikes – furthermore it will be priced normally at RM82,176.
The ABS-equipped limited edition bike uses an 821cc Testastretta engine that’s equipped with ride-by-wire technology for its 53mm throttle bodies and a six-speed manual gearbox to manage the engine’s 112hp at 9,250rpm and 89Nm of torque at 7,750rpm.
With a wheelbase of 1,480mm, it comes in measuring 2,170mm-long, 800mm-wide and 1,045mm-tall.
The front end has a 24.3-degree rake for its adjustable 43mm up-side-down fork suspension with 130mm of travel as well as a pair of four-piston radially mounted Brembo monobloc M4-32 callipers for the two 320mm semi-floating discs.
The rear gets an adjustable monoshock suspension with progressive linkage for its aluminium double-sided 93.2mm swingarm as well as a two-piston floating calliper for its single 245mm disc.
Saddle height is adjustable from 785 to 810mm and with 17.5-litre fuel tank, the 205.5kg (wet kerb) limited edition Monster uses 17-inch 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheels with 120/70 (front) and 180/60 (rear) Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
