The Department for Transport has released its latest figures for the number of grants awarded for the installation of electric vehicle charging devices as of 1 January 2022.
It shows that OZEV funded grant schemes have delivered 277,030 domestic charging devices since 2013.
Since 1 January 2021, the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme has funded 88,624 device installations, an increase of almost 60%
The Workplace Charging Scheme has funded the installation of 22,977 sockets in workplace carparks since the scheme started in 2016. Since 1 January 2021, it has funded 9,648 sockets installations, an increase of 72%.
However, the On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme (ORCS) is lagging behind. The grant has funded 2,038 public charging devices which have been installed across local authorities in the UK.
The DfT says 435 on-street charging devices were installed after being claimed for by the local authorities in the previous three months, and funding has been awarded for 4,539 additional ORCS charging devices to be installed in the future.
