E-bike subscription service Dance is expanding its offering from its Berlin home to Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, and Paris.
Dance, which allows riders to rent e-bikes as a service, rather than buying one outright is also introducing a new electric moped.
The Dance Moped can fit two riders and has two range options: 50 km with the standard battery or between 65-70 km with the long-range battery. Charging time is between six and eight hours, while top speed is 45 kph.
Prices for the moped start at €89 per month and it will be available in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich initially.
A new e-bike option, the Dance One Step, a low-step version of the original Dance One is also becoming available for riders.
Weighing 21 kg, the Dance One Step has the same 55 km range as the regular Dance One and can charge up to 80% in two hours, with the full 100% coming an hour later. The assist motor’s top speed is 25 kph.
Prices for the Dance One, and Dance One Step, start from €59 per month.
That’s not all, however. Dance has also launched a business service allowing companies in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich to offer the e-bike subscription to their employees at reduced rates.
Starting at €67 per month per employee excluding VAT, the scheme will allow riders to save up to 55% on Dance’s regular monthly subscription price, with their employers picking up the slack.
According to Dance, this represents a huge benefit for companies and employees, alike. Apparently, 53% of Europeans would work for an employer that offered an e-bike subscription as a benefit. Dance also reckons that the e-bike subscription will help make workers more productive and creative, whilst also improving “mental stamina.”
Last week, Dance also upgraded its in-app dashboard. Using the integrated phone mount, Dance riders can track their speed, distance covered, and how long they’ve been riding, as well as the CO2 equivalent if a car commute had been chosen over an e-bike.
Despite only launching last summer, Dance certainly seems to on its way to becoming a serious mover and shaker within the European mobility scene.
