The AA South Africa has predicted a big drop in petrol and diesel prices for November 2020.
Its statement is based on the unaudited month-end fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund, with the price drop attributed to a stronger rand and lower international petroleum prices.
“This gradual appreciation [of the rand] has been mirrored by international oil prices, which softened throughout the month, with steeper reductions seen over the past 10 days,” said the AA.
The data shows that the price of petrol will decrease by up to 27 cents a litre, with diesel decreasing by 11 cents per litre.
“The only fly in the ointment is illuminating paraffin, whose basic fuel price increased while petrol and diesel were falling, meaning a 15 cents-a-litre rise for the popular lighting and heating fuel is on the cards,” the AA added.
