We usually choose one or two hero cars for our previews of the weekly Grays classic car auctions, but this round has so many heavy hitters that it was enough to fill the whole story! If you’re a Holden fan, you’re definitely going to want to keep reading.
All the lots go live on Thursday April 21, closing just a few days later on Tuesday April 26.

Genuine Blue Meanies have been hot property on the auction market in recent times, and this one could be another candidate to grab headlines when the hammer falls.
It’s build number 047/500, with just 20,972kms showing from delivery and all the documentation any collector could ever ask for. The originality goes as far as the untouched spare wheel and even the original brake pads, so it presents as a true time warp to one of the most desirable HDT cars.

Peter Brock’s personal Blue Meanie went viral when it sold for $1million at auction last year, so a figure of even half that for this car isn’t out of the question.
The Holden homologation specials continue with this all original 1988 Group A SV Walky, in all original condition with 103,000km.

Like the custom plates suggest it’s build number 198, with all the documentation supplied right from its first ownership. Genuine Walky’s have been selling for over AU$300,000 in recent years, so we’d be surprised if this one didn’t reach a figure in that ball park by auctions end.
Those in the market for a chrome bumper iron lion needn’t look further than this ’72 HQ Monaro GTS coupe. It’s a pearler of a thing, sporting the beefier 308-cube mill paired with an auto ‘box for easy cruising.

Both the interior and exterior are in red hot condition, all refurbished to a standard much higher than Holden could offer back in the 70s.
If all the stocko stuff isn’t your jam, then this spicy VK Calais should get your juices flowing.

Under the HDT-style body kit is a 304-cube iron lion, wearing Holley Sniper EFI which is force-fed goodness from a T04Z turbo. A manualised Trimatic ‘box and an upgraded Borgwarner diff complete the drivetrain, with 20” Momo Star wheels and a lick of pearly white paint to finish off the exterior look.
