Shrosbree stated: “Although we managed to put on a good show last year, including lifting the game as far as our livestream of the entire event was concerned, it didn’t have the atmosphere and excitement that comes with having enthusiasts and fans present.”
The weekend will be packed with a variety of different activities, Friday the 6th of May will have the entire Classic Car Friday session take place, which will boast some priceless relics from the past being piloted at full speed up the ill. The scrutineering, display and parade will take place the day before.
Speaking of which, the King of the Hill shootout will conduct the same formalities on the friday with the parade taking place between 17:00 and 17:30 in the evening at Waterfront Drive. Saturday the 7th of May will have all competitors taking to the tarmac in a series of practice and three qualifying rounds throughout the day.
The shootout will take place on Sunday afternoon, with qualifying sessions and a morning warm-up dominating the former part of the day. Time slots will be taken up by road and supercar, modified saloon car, single seater and sports car with the prize giving taking place thereafter.Weather looks favourable for most of the 2022 Simola Hillclimb weekend with early reports indicating pleasant temperatures lingering around 20°C with a low chance of rain expected on Saturday.
