Subtle design tweaks to help the new scoot stand out from its more affordable variants
TVS Motors has begun its 2022 onslaught by updating the top-of-the-line Jupiter ZX with SmartXConnect and voice assist.
Bluetooth connectivity was earlier offered in the Jupiter Grande edition, which was discontinued recently. So TVS has re-introduced this feature in the current model’s top-of-the-line variant to fill the void left by the Grande, thus giving Jupiter a better fighting chance against its rivals.

Along with this, it becomes the first 110cc scooter in India to get voice assist
The SmartXConnect is TVS’ moniker for its Bluetooth connectivity features which work via the TVS Connect mobile app. And to make full use of the connectivity features, TVS has equipped the Jupiter ZX with a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, shod with SMS/Call alerts, navigation assist, and a first-in-class voice assist feature.
For all these updates, TVS is charging Rs 3,000 more than the Jupiter’s existing ZX Disc variant. Swipe up to know more.
The voice assist feature works by allowing the rider to give voice commands to the TVS SmartXConnect application via a connected microphone device such as Bluetooth headphones or a helmet headset.
All of this is a big step up from the older digi-analog instrument console of the Jupiter ZX and brings the Jupiter in line with its rivals, most of which offer LCD consoles with Bluetooth.
Apart from this, the Jupiter ZX will now come in two new colors, this being the Copper Brown
Also new for 2022 are the silver oak inner panels, the dual-tone seat, backrest, and the two new color options, namely Matte Black and Copper Brown. These aesthetic tweaks have mainly been done to help the scooter stand out from the more affordable variants.
This aside, the TVS Jupiter ZX continues to boast TVS’ Intelli-Go start-stop system, i-Touchstart, LED lights, and front cubby space with a USB charger.

The voice assist basically lets you give voice commands to the SmartXConnect app on the Jupiter’s LCD
No mechanical changes have been introduced with this update. So the Jupiter ZX SmartXConnect draws power from the same BS6-compliant 109.7cc engine putting out 7.8PS and 8.8Nm.
The motor is housed in an underbone chassis that’s coupled with telescopic forks and an adjustable shocker. Meanwhile, the scooter rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels, clamped by a disc brake upfront and a drum brake at the rear.

The whole package tips the scale at 107kg which, coupled with its 765mm seat height, makes the Jupiter ZX super accessible for all kinds of people.
0TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXConnect Price & Rivals0
Thanks to all the additions, the Jupiter ZX SmartXConnect retails at Rs 80,973 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 3,000 more than the existing Jupiter ZX Disc. We believe the bump in price is rather justified given the added features.
However, for around Rs 80,000, the TVS NTorq 125 makes more sense in our opinion, given its extra performance, better features, and more radical design. What do you think?
