This Neo-Retro bike looks cool, offers decent performance, but there’s a huge catch..
Even though the e-mobility space has picked up pace in India, there are only a handful of electric motorcycles available at the moment, leaving a big hole for people who aren’t fans of scooters.
This is exactly the gap the Sunra EV Miku Super electric bike is well capable of bridging with its likable design, comfy ergonomics, and a decent powerhouse.
2022 Sunra EV Miku Super Electric Bike – Design & Features
One look at the Miku and it looks quite different from the usual crop of “futuristic” electric bikes
One look at the Sunra EV and it looks pretty stand out in the otherwise “futuristic” electric bike space.
Upfront, the bike packs a round LED headlight flanked by LED DRLs on both sides, which gives the bike a neo-retro appeal. At the opposite end, though, the Miku boasts a floating tail section with a sleek LED tail lamp and a single-piece seat.
Topping this likable design is an array of vibrant color options, such as yellow, blue, white, red, and black, to name a few.
There are plenty of features at hand here as well. All-LED lights, digital instrumentation, disc brakes at both ends, and keyless ignition are some of these
As for features, the Miku Super gets:
– Two riding modes
- All-LED lighting
- Fully-digital instrument cluster
- Storage compartment with a USB charging port
- Keyless ignition via a fingerprint sensor (how cool is that!)
2022 Sunra EV Miku Super Electric Bike – Power & Underpinnings
Under the skin, the Sunra Miku has a 3kW hub motor coupled with two removable 1.44kWh batteries
Contrary to what you’d expect from a mini electric bike, the Sunra Miku is powered by a healthy 3kW hub motor that’s good enough for a top speed of 80kmph, claimed to come up in merely 8.5 seconds.
The motor is accompanied by two 1.44kWh removable batteries and is good enough for a claimed range of 90-130km, depending on the mode you’re in. Additionally, Sunra claims a charging time of four hours, but whether this is for a single battery remains unclear.
These help it achieve a top speed of 80kmph and return a maximum range of 130km. Wanna know more about this fun little EV? Simply swipe up to do that.
Regardless of the case, these numbers are surely good enough to make the Miku a capable city bike and more than capable for your daily anda-bread runs.
Finally, the e-bike comes suspended on a set of USD forks and uniquely placed twin shock absorbers while packing single disc brakes at both ends for stopping duties.
Meanwhile, the whole package tips the scale at 109kg (batteries included) which, coupled with its low seat height of 760mm, makes the Miku super accessible.
2022 Sunra EV Miku Super Electric Bike – What’s The Price?
Up front, the bike packs a round LED headlight flanked by LED DRLs on both sides
This is where the Sunra EV Miku stops making sense. Launched in Europe at a sky-high price of 4,390 Euros (Rs 3.56 lakh), the Sunra EV is nowhere near a value-for-money product, considering you can simply get a full-sized 125cc motorcycle like the Yamaha XSR125 for around 4,500 Euros.
Still, price aside, the Sunra Miku does impress a lot with its likable features and decent performance.
