Mahi owns a couple of Yamaha RD 350s and a few other ultra-rare vintage bikes in his collection
It is not an unknown fact anymore that the former Indian skipper and Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni is an ardent two and four wheeler enthusiast. He owns a couple of vintage bikes and cars in his collection and is a massive Yamaha RD350 fan.
Besides owning a couple of RD 350s, he also has a few BSA and vintage Triumph models in his garage. For those of you who are not aware, he also owns some very rare bikes in his collection, including the Confederate X132 Hellcat.
MS Dhoni has most recently received a restored RD 350. The bike was gifted to him by Syed Jadeer. According to Mr. Syed, the Yamaha RD350 took more than one and half years to restore from scratch.
The bike took more than 18 months to fully restore from scratch
Mr. Syed bought two different motorcycles to show MS Dhoni and gifted him the Green Competition RD350 model, while he himself owns the other yellow-painted gold bike. MS Dhoni was impressed by the artistry and the dedication level of the restorer and autographed the fuel tank of the yellow-painted gold bike.

According to Mr. Syed, his US Spec RD350 model took a lot of effort to restore from scratch due to the unavailability of parts. But he later managed to source the materials locally.

Yamaha launched the RD350 in the country in 1983. It was the fastest and the most powerful two-stroke motorcycle, which could reach a top speed of around 160 km/h.
The Yamaha RD350 used a 350cc, parallel-twin, two-stroke motor that produced close to 28 bhp of peak power in the LT model, while the HT model produced around 31 bhp of peak power. The engine was detuned for the Indian market to extract more fuel efficiency.
