The scooter prevails on the spec sheet, but here’s what it can do in the real-world
The Yamaha Aerox 155 looks particularly fast for a scooter and it backs this up by being the most powerful sub-200cc scooter in our country. But how fast it actually goes in the real-world is something a lot of people (including me) want to know.
Lucky for us, YouTuber Ayush Verma has answered this and tested the Aerox 155’s top speed in the real-world. Read all about it below.

Soon after, the scooter is unleashed and it takes merely 4.96 seconds to cross 60kmph
Before getting into it, please note that we don’t support overspeeding or rash riding on public roads. Please wear your protective riding gear at all times.
The video starts off with an introduction about the scooter, which looks quite sporty in the Vermillion color scheme featured here. When the talking ends, though, the Aerox 155 is unleashed, and it jolts ahead to reach 60kmph in just under five seconds.
The scooter doesn’t stop there and keeps gaining speed to cross 100kmph, reaching a top speed of 119kmph
While the usual Indian 125cc scooters start running out of breath after 60-65kmph, the Aerox 155 keeps blasting ahead to reach 100kmph in an impressive 15.96 seconds. Now, this isn’t a V-Box tested figure so there could be some discrepancies in the ‘actual’ speeds but hey, it’s impressive nevertheless.
Even after reaching triple-digit speeds, the scooter keeps accelerating without much hesitation, slowly but steadily reaching its top speed. It’s only after 115kmph that the scooter starts struggling a little and hits a wall at a speedo-indicated top speed of 119kmph.
But that wasn’t all. You see, after 119kmph, the rider hits a slight downhill and manages an epic speed of 124kmph
Impressed? Well, there’s more. After reaching 119kmph, the rider re-adjusts into a more aerodynamic seating position which, coupled with a slight downhill, ekes out an extra 5kmph, bumping the Aerox’s top speed to 124kmph!
Considering the scooter reaches 110kmph fairly effortlessly, I think it can be a good companion on long rides too, holding an average speed of 95-100kmph, which is usually the ideal speed limit on Indian highways.
