Watching a race car like in F1 is something that gives immense pleasure for auto enthusiasts.
Unlike the rich guys who own them, we commoners can only dream of driving one. But there are few among us who have proven otherwise. Today, we bring you a story of a young Indian man who has created a race car for himself, inspired by Formula 1. Read on to see his epic work.

Formula One is not a game of chance but is a work of art and technical strategies. To many, it’s only a mere race and a race car. But to the fanatics and fans, it is an emotion. The drivers, racecars, the pit crew, and the track are a temple of entertainment.
Even so, believe it to not, the funds required to run a Formula 1 race is only meant for the ones with deep pockets. It is not meant for anyone else. Speaking of deep pockets, do you know how much an F1 car costs? Well, they cost up to a whopping $12.20 million. So, it is not everybody’s cup of tea.
While owning an F1 car is far fetched dream for a common man, there are alternatives. You may ask what it is, right? There is no rule that you cannot make a desi one for yourself. No, we are not joking. Well, there is one guy who made it possible proving that there is no dearth of talent in India.
He is Swapnil Chopkar, from Nagpur, India who has created a desi formula car. It was quick for the internet to notice his talent. Moreover, Swapnil has showcased his car on his YouTube Channel “The Nil Vlog”.So, let us take a look at this Indian boy’s very own F1 car in detail.

Swapnil’s racing car comes with components sourced from a Maruti Suzuki 800. The vehicle features a 5-litre fuel tank and offers a fuel efficiency figure of 16km per litre. Unlike other projects of people, it took him around one year time to complete his own racing car.

Further, the parts that this young man has used are ones found from a scrapyard. His genuine interest has also led him to borrow money from friends and family. Swapnil’s dedication and hard work have helped him complete the project.

Speaking on his success, Chopkar said – “A few years ago, I started doing odd jobs at garages purely out of interest in automobiles, so I never cared for the extremely low wages. The deficit I covered up by doing other temporary jobs. Working at garages, including one of Nagpur’s biggest, gave me a fantastic opportunity to learn and understand how cars worked.
He added, “Formula-1 type of design was my first choice as I love the beast machines which glide on race tracks. Nikhil Umbarkar and Pranay Mahajan are two such people, without whom this project could never have been completed.”
Thus, this was all about a young man’s dream of making a race car at a price of Rs.1.25 Lakh
