Not that it’s designed for it, but here’s how the latest Baleno handles the rough stuff
Maruti Suzuki recently launched the all-new Baleno in the Indian market with a lot of updates that made it a better product than before. Being a premium hatchback, the Baleno holds an important place in the brand’s Indian lineup and offers a comprehensive package.
The new updates not only bring cosmetic changes but also offer a long list of mechanical improvements as well, thus helping Baleno have an edge over the rivals. Having said this, have these changes made it better off the road as well? Here is a video that will help you find it out.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Off-Road
In the video, the all-new Baleno was subjected to subtle off-roading proving its relevance on bad Indian roads.
These sorts of roads are a common sight for those living in Tier 3 cities and in the rural areas and the high ground clearance helped the Baleno easily tackle most of the potholes without getting bottomed out. The new bumpers and short overhangs mean decent approach and departure angles, thus preventing the bumpers from scraping on steep inclines.
What is also evident from the video is that the reworked suspension has resulted in improved ride quality. The engine of the all-new Baleno too has been worked upon and now offers a better torque spread across the rev-range that helps the car easily accelerate, even on the inclines without any major fuss. The wide tyres of the Baleno further help in getting better traction and the car doesn’t slip on slippery roads.
