Only 500 examples of this Italian exotica will ever exist. You’ll be lucky to get your hands on one
Ducati has joined hands with renowned Italian interior-maker Poltrona Frau to introduce a limited, numbered edition of its popular cruiser, the XDiavel.
Dubbed the XDiavel Nera, only 500 units of this special bike will be made available to the public.
What Makes It Special?
These include red, blue, grey, green, and brown
The Ducati XDiavel isn’t really a technological marvel which packs new features, but it’s more of a celebration of luxury. And this is achieved via a special rider’s saddle.
All 500 bikes come with carefully handcrafted seats (with a laser-engraved ‘X’ pattern) by leading Italian interior-maker Poltrona Frau. This isn’t Poltrona Frau’s first automotive collaboration, though, and the company has previously partnered with luxury manufacturers like Ferrari, Maserati, and even Moto Guzzi.
It is built in partnership with Italian interior designer Poltrona Frau
Consumers can choose from five colour options of the seat, namely Poltrona Frau Siam Red, Steel Blue, Concrete Gray, India Brown, and Selva Green. Additionally, the bike comes complete with a key fob and a document holder in the same leather.
These special seats create an exciting contrast against the XDiavel’s black and grey livery which includes red brake calipers and engine valve covers.
Pure XDiavel Under-the-skin
Consumers can choose from five different colour options
Apart from the premium leather touch, the XDiavel remains mostly unchanged. There are no design changes and the brawny, mean-looking design is carried forward as it is.
Complementing the mean design is a raspy 1,262cc, V-twin engine putting out an impressive 160PS and 127Nm. The motor is driven by a belt, making the XDiavel the only bike to do so in Ducati’s lineup.
The main change here is the new seat with laser-engrossed ’X’ pattern, made from the finest Italian leather
All this performance is more than sufficient to launch you skywards in a jiffy, and in order to prevent that, the XDiavel comes with an impressive suite of electronics. The package includes:
- Six-axis IMU
- Cornering ABS
- Ride modes
- Traction control
- Launch control
- Cruise control
All these are accessible via a 3.5-inch TFT instrument cluster.

Coming to the underpinnings, the Ducati XDiavel Nera is built around a trellis frame, sprung on chunky 50mm forks and a monoshock, both adjustable.
Meanwhile, the bike rolls on 17-inch forged Aluminium alloy wheels wrapped in grippy Pirelli Rosso III tyres.
Can You Buy One?
Ducati has taken the wraps off the new, limited edition XDiavel Nera
Considering the XDiavel Nera’s limited quantity, it’ll probably sell out pretty soon, even before making it to India.
However, if you like the XDiavel, you can buy the XDiavel Dark or the XDiavel Black Star here in India for Rs 18 lakh and Rs 22.6 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
