The dual-clutch automatic will add a lot of convenience for buyers who have shied away from the Altroz
Tata Motors announced that the dealerships have started accepting bookings for the upcoming Altroz DCA, which is the short-form for the Dual-Clutch Automatic. Customers need to pay Rs 21,000 to book the new Tata Altroz DCA and the price announcement is likely to happen by mid-March.
What is new in the upcoming Tata Altroz?
Apart from the new dual-clutch automatic transmission, the upcoming automatic model will also offer features like new LED DRLs on the outside and a bigger infotainment screen inside the cabin. While Tata is yet to officially announce the features and details of the upcoming car, the teasers videos are out.
Make sure that you sign up and get to know about all the changes in the new Altroz DCA.
The biggest change in the Altroz DCA is of course the new transmission. It is a wet-clutch transmission, which will be a better choice than many dry-clutch dual-clutch gearboxes available in the Indian market. The dry clutch-type transmissions tend to overheat in Indian conditions.
Tata will also add a new Opera Blue colour, which will also become the flagship colour of the model. There will be other standard colours like the Downtown Red, Arcade Great, Avenue White, and Harbour Blue colour available with the upcoming hatchback. Tata will also add a Dark Edition variant.
The teaser images show that new Altroz DCA will come with a few tweaks
The upcoming automatic variant will be available only with the XT, XZ and XZ+ trim.
Will be available with the 1.2-litre engine
Surprisingly, Tata Motors has decided to offer the new Dual-Clutch transmission with the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The engine generates a maximum power of 85 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm with the standard Altroz.
Tata’s decision to not offer the more powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with the DCA remains unknown. However, it can be because of the cost-effectiveness of the car.
