The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a more affordable and accessible version of the Himalayan adventure tourer designed for the urban jungle
After a lot of anticipation, Royal Enfield has finally launched the Himalayan Scram 411 in the country. Royal Enfield introduced the Scram to target those Indian customers who aren’t a fan of how the Himalayan looks and do not like the idea of hardcore and focussed Adventure tourer for daily usage.
The RE Scram feels right at home within the urban environment. It shares its chassis and engine with the Himalayan, and so it does not feel out of its element while exploring the unpaved tarmac on weekend rides away from the confines of the city.
The RE Himalayan Scram looks a lot less serious than its bigger sibling, while the youthful colour option will definitely help attract the attention of younger buyers. That said, here are all the details that you need about the 2022 RE Scram 411.
0Royal Enfield Scram 411 VS Royal Enfield Himalayan: Visual Difference0
The Scram gets smaller 19-inch wheels
The Scram gets smaller 19-inch wheels that replace the 21-inch wheels that you find on the Himalayan. These are the same wired spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres, and they, unfortunately, still don’t get an option of tubeless tyres.
it gets a different halogen headlamp unit with a cast aluminum surround
Look closely, and you’ll notice that the Scram 411 does not look as bulky as its bigger sibling, the Himalayan, from the front. The reason is that it gets a different halogen headlamp unit with a cast aluminum surround. The headlamp unit now sits lower, making the bike look more proportionate. The Scram does not get any windscreen or the metal frame that joins the fuel tank with the headlamp unit. The two new side panels near the fuel tank area with the Royal Enfield branding make the tank appear slick.
and a different instrument cluster than the Himalayan
One other reason that makes the front of the Scram 411 look uncluttered is that it gets a less complicated offset instrument cluster lifted from the Meteor. So there is just one single pod with a semi-digital and analog display unit. RE offers the tripper navigation as an optional extra (you will have to pay Rs 5,000 extra for the tripper navigation).
These are the few substantial aesthetical changes that help the Scram look visually different from its bigger sibling, the Himalayan.
Besides these, some other noticeable change includes:
– * The inclusion of a new single-piece seat
– * New smaller grab rail at the rear profile.
It rivals directly with the Yezdi Scrambler
– * The rear profile also receives a different number plate and side turn indicator setup.
0Royal Enfield Scram 411 Gets Funky Colour Options0
The newly introduced Royal Enfield Scram 411 gets seven extremely funky and youthful colour options- Graphite Red, Yellow and Blue, Skyline Blue and Blazing Black, Silver Spirit, and White Flame.
The Himalayan too gets seven colour options – * Graphite Black – * Red and Blue – * Lake Blue – * Gravel Grey – * Pine Green – * Mirage Silver
– * Rock Red

The missing center stand, smaller wheels, and the absence of the metal tank brace have helped shed some weight from the Scrambler
The 19-inch wheels at the front have helped lower the seat height. The Scram 411 offers a seat height of 795mm (5mm less than the Himalayan.)
The Scram is a more accessible bike for short riders who tiptoed on the Himalayan. Due to the smaller wheel, the wheelbase is slightly less than the adventure tourer. The shorter wheelbase of the Scram will make it more agile in city traffic.
The handlebar sits 60 mm lower and is now 20 mm closer towards the rider, which has changed the overall sitting triangle of the Scram.
Last but least, the Scram also offers a lower ground clearance than the Himalayan at 200 mm (The Himalayan offers 220 mm of ground clearance). Royal Enfield is not providing a center stand with the motorcycle.
The missing center stand, smaller wheels, and the absence of the metal tank brace have helped shed some weight from the Scrambler. The Scram 411 is almost 5 kilograms lighter than the adventure tourer and weighs 185 kilograms.

0So should you but the new Scram 411?0
The Himalayan Scram 411 can do everything that the Himalayan does but thanks to these changes, the Scram is now an adventure motorcycle that is far more manageable for the urban jungle.
The Himalayan, on the other hand, offers better wind protection on the highways and is a more practical bike for long-distance rides.
