At Rs 1.45 lakh, it can be the least expensive electric car in India
The popularity of electric vehicles is at an all-time high. And in an attempt to lure customers, all the carmakers are trying to make their electric cars look as modern and futuristic as possible. However, have you ever thought about what it feels like to have a combination of modern-day EV technology and a car with a vintage design?
Overview
A Sirsa-based custom car maker called ‘Green Master’ has come up with one such unique electric vintage car called Green Master Wax Wing Electric Car. The complete detail of this unique electric vehicle is available in a video uploaded by the YouTube channel of Her Garage.
Looks like a vintage car
The Green Master Wax Wing looks like an authentic vintage car from yesteryears. Though, most of its cycle parts are from two of the highest-selling vehicles in India, Maruti Suzuki Alto and Royal Enfield Classic 350. The body panels of the Wax Wing are custom-made. The car is available in colour options of matt green, black, white, blue, maroon, matt grey and matt sand yellow.
At the front, the Green Master Wax Wing has a squared-out grille, which is finished in chrome and placed within an almost-vertical blacked-out panel. Above the grille sits a chrome-finished logo of Green Master. Like a true-blue vintage car, the Green Master Wax Wing gets slim looking angular wheel arches that are separate units. There are small LED headlamps in the Green Master Wax Wing mounted on the connecting bars between the front fenders and the front panel housing the grille.
The bonnet of the Green Master Wax Wing is almost flat and tapered from the sides, with the tapered side surfaces incorporating air inlets in them. The bonnet ends at a vertical panel having two small pilot bulbs on its side edges. These pilot bulbs are the same units present on the upper corners of the rounded headlamp of a Royal Enfield Classic 350. There are chrome-finished rearview mirrors mounted on the upper edges of this vertical panel, which again are from the Classic 350.
The Green Master Wax Wing gets 110/90-19 tyres around multi-spoke alloy wheels having the Green Master logo on their hub caps. This tyre size is the same as that of the rear tyre of the previous version of the Classic 350. The side profile of the Green Master Wax Wing looks simple, with the front and rear fenders adjoined with the side step in a V-shaped manner. The front side pillars of the car get bottle holders, while there are ISO 9001:2015 badges for the design patent on the front side panels.
Recognise the tail lamps?
At the back, the Green Master Wax Wing gets a large and lockable cuboidal box, which serves as the boot compartment of the vehicle, the capacity of which is 70-litres. A spare tyre with an alloy wheel is present on the back of this boot compartment. The lower edges of the box come with tail lamps mounted on them, which are the same tail lamp units available in the standard Bullet 350.
The Green Master Wax Wing is a compact vehicle for its size, with a length of 2.7 meters and a height of 1.3 meters. While the Wax Wing weighs 260 kg, the ground clearance is a massive 400mm.
And open cabin design
The minimalist looking two-seater cabin of the Green Master Wax Wing gets a compact, simple looking dashboard. The vehicle has a three-spoke round-themed steering wheel, behind which there is a stalk on the right-hand side. This stalk performs multiple functions like turning on-off the headlamps, horn, reverse gear and transmission mode.
The left-hand side of the dashboard features an instrument console. It is a combination of two rounded gauges with separate housing for warning lamps in between them. The left housing has a small LCD screen for speed, battery voltage and odometer, while the right-housing gets an analogue gauge for battery level indicator.
Also gets digital instrument cluster
This instrument console can be switched on or off using a separate switch below the co-passenger seat. Below the driver’s side of the seat, you can find the manually-operated parking brake. The car doesn’t come with seat belts and doesn’t require a license to drive as well.
Can go 100 km on a full charge
It is very compact in size
Given the compact size of the Green Master Wax Wing, it gets a humble powertrain. The vehicle sources its power from a 1200W electric motor that produces meagre 1.5 bhp of power output and 2.2 Nm of peak torque output. The car can attain a top speed of 45 km/h. The electric battery returns a maximum real-world driving range of 100 km and takes 4-5 hours for a full charge, which gives it an approximate running cost of just Rs 0.45-0.5 per km.
At a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh, the Green Master Wax Wing looks unique. It serves as an ideal solution for slow-paced, short-distance commutes between one point to another. What are your opinions about the Green Master Wax Wing? Let us know in the comments below.
