- Recently added an American SUV to the collection
Overview
While many of us know about the expansive garage of Mukesh Ambani and his family, the exact number of cars that the family owns remains a secret. We have spotted the Ambani cars including the Maybach S650 Guard, Rolls Royce Phantom Series VIII, Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce Cullinan, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Land Rover Defender and more in the past.
But there are many cars in the garage that you simply cannot buy after walking into a showroom in India because these manufacturers do not sell cars in India! Here are a few of these cars.
Tesla Model S

Tesla might soon enter the Indian market officially and sell cars directly to customers. However, the popular American-based electric car brand is still figuring out how to enter the Indian market that imposes high import duty on CBU models.
No one knows how many cars the Ambani family owns
The Ambanis did not wait for Tesla to sell cars in India officially. Instead, they imported the Model S – P100D and have been using it for two years now.
The popular Jio garage added the deep metallic blue shade Model S in 2019. It is the 100D variant that offers a 100 kWh battery pack and delivers power to all four wheels. While it costs about Rs 60 lakh in the US, with import taxes, the model price shoots up to more than Rs 1 crore in India.
Tesla Model X

Ambanis can’t get enough of the Tesla cars it seems. Apart from the Model S, the Ambani clan also owns a Model X SUV. The Ambani family bought the white coloured Model X last year and it is a full CBU import as well.
Both Tesla Model S and Model X are not available in India
The cost of the fully imported Model X is more than Rs 1 crore as well. While Tesla is planning to enter the Indian market, it will initially offer the Model 3, which is the least priced Tesla model. The Tesla cars that the Ambani family owns is not likely to be here officially for the next few years.
Cadillac Escalade

General Motors left India a few years ago but they never got their exotic brands like Cadillac to the Indian market. The Ambani family recently added the Cadillac Escalade in their garage. It is the fourth-generation Escalade.
Cadillac does not manufacture right-hand-drive models of the Escalade and that is why they cannot be registered in India in stock form. The car is first converted into a right-hand drive for the Indian market before registration.
The Escalade is used by prominent politicians in the United States. The top-spec model costs around Rs 70 lakh and with import duties, the price shoots up to around Rs 1.3 crore.
McLaren 570S Spider
McLaren has already announced its entry into the Indian market but the first showroom is yet to open. The Ambani family owns the McLaren 570S Spider convertible sports car. It was the first McLaren 520S Spider to reach India and is a pure track tool. The car weighs only 1,300 kg and gets a powerful 3.8-litre V8 engine that generates a maximum power of 570 PS and a peak torque of 601 Nm. The McLaren 570S can do 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
BMW 7-Series

Now this car is from the early 1990s and even though BMW is present in India, they never built this 7-Series for the Indian market. Dhirubhai Ambani used the ultra-luxurious E38 BMW 7-Series 750Li L7, which came with some of the most exotic features for its time including a telephone receiver inside the car.
BMW made only 899 examples of the car. The 750i Li was only sold in the Middle-East, Southeast Asian countries and European markets on special orders. It seems like maintaining a luxurious car garage runs in the Ambani family.
