The Indian cricketer joins the elite club of Lamborghini Urus owners in India as he brings home his own finished in Blu Eleos
At one point in time, the Audi Q7 was the de-facto SUV among celebrities of the film fraternity and sports. The title of this de-facto choice of SUV now goes to a much sportier and more aggressive Lamborghini Urus. In recent times, we have seen many celebrities adding a Urus to their car collection, and the most recent one is the current captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Rohit Sharma.
How is Rohit Sharma’s Lamborghini Urus different?
Sharma bought it earlier this year
In a few pictures shared by Automobili Ardent, we can see the Lamborghini Urus acquired by Rohit Sharma in its full glory. The SUV is in a paint shade of Blu Eleos (dark blue). This paint shade goes well with the colours of jerseys of both of the teams he is leading right now, the national cricket team of India and the IPL team of Mumbai Indians.
Even the cabin of Sharma’s Urus is customised
Apart from the exclusive exterior paint shade, the Lamborghini Urus acquired by Rohit Sharma also has a customized cabin. The cabin gets a dual-tone shade of Nero (black) on the upper half and Ross Alala (Cherry Red) on the lower half of the cabin, consisting of door panels and seats.
This dual-tone cabin is well-contrasted by a fine layer of contrast silver running across the width of the dashboard and door panels. You can also see the contrasting silver touches on either side of the slanted centre console. Adding more visual drama to the cabin is the presence of piano black touches above the layer of contrast silver across the dashboard and door panels and in the lower centre console.
Urus is Lamborghini’s fastest-selling car
Want to know more about the Urus or other cars of Rohit Sharma?
The Urus is not the first-ever SUV from Lamborghini – the credits for that goes to the rugged LM002 from the ‘80s. However, launched in 2018, the Urus has become the highest-selling Lamborghini in all parts of the world. This high-performance SUV from Lamborghini shares its platform with other range-topping SUVs from other global brands under Volkswagen Group’ family, such as Porsche Cayenne, Audi RSQ8 and Bentley Bentayga.
Powering the Lamborghini Urus is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine – one of the most powerful engines in the current lineup of powertrains from the Volkswagen Group. Paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox as standard, the engine produces a maximum power output of 650 PS and a maximum torque output of 850 Nm. The Urus can cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 305 kmph, making it the fastest production SUV in the world. In India, the Lamborghini Urus is available at a starting price of Rs 3.15 crore.
