This update also unsurprisingly sees a bump in prices. Here’s whats new
Bajaj seems to be on a roll. A few days back, its flagship Pulsars, the N250 and F250 were spotted in a shiny new blue color and now, it looks like the Pulsar NS160 is also getting a subtle livery update soon.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Color Update
Looks like Bajaj will soon update the NS160’s Metallic White color with black alloy wheels
Spotted by YouTuber Autoholic Manish, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160’s Metallic Pearl White colour now gets black alloy wheels that replace the older white ones.
To jog your memory, Bajaj introduced the NS160 with the Metallic Pearl White color in late 2020, which came with flashy white alloy wheels. Since then, however, Bajaj fans have repeatedly criticized the alloy wheels for being a little too much.
This is probably the reason why the Indian bikemaker is switching back to black alloy wheels, similar to those found on its Pewter Grey livery.
Along with this, Bajaj has also hiked the prices of the NS160. The bike now retails at Rs 1,19,418 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 736 more than its older price. While this is quite nominal, the company did hike the bike’s price by a substantial Rs 2,200 in February 2022.
Considering no other updates have been introduced, a Rs 3,000 increment in merely a month’s time does seem a little extreme. Plus, things only get worse when you consider that most of the bike’s rivals offer much better features at a similar or less price point.
Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 Details
To jog your memory, the bike previously featured white alloy wheels, which weren’t well-received by Pulsar fanatics
Apart from the price revision and color update, the bike remains completely as it is. The bike continues to bear a likable and radical design, which it borrows from the Pulsar NS200.
The design is getting dated, though, and so are the bike’s features. With no LED lights or a digital instrument cluster, the NS160 is arguably the least feature-packed bike in its segment.
The bike continues to put out 17.2PS from its 160cc engine
The bike’s USP, however, is its engine and underpinnings. The 160cc, single-cylinder engine pumps out 17.2PS and 14.6Nm and sits in a trusty perimeter frame. Meanwhile, the bike is sprung on telescopic forks and a nitrox monoshock.
All in all, while the color update may be Bajaj’s way of listening to the consumer, it’s high time that the company plans a major overhaul for the NS lineup, especially when you consider its arch-rival, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, is miles ahead in terms of features and value-for-money.
