Hero Xpulse 200 4V- the most inexpensive touring-friendly motorcycle, has won many hearts since its launch. The long-travel suspension, comfortable seats, and wire-spoke wheels shod with on and offroad spec tyres are some of the positive traits of this motorcycle. We all know that the Xpulse 200 4V is an ideal motorcycle for long-distance tours and can make the rider feel comfortable even if the tarmac gives out. But can it beat a fully-faired sports bike in a one-on-one drag race?

The Contenders
The Hero Xpulse 200 4V uses a 199.6 cc, Oil cooled, 4 Stroke 4 Valve Single cylinder OHC unit. The engine paired to a five-speed gearbox produces about 18.08 PS of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 16.45 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.
The Yamaha YZF-R15M, on the other hand, uses the same BS6 compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. The unit paired with a six-speed gearbox produces 18.4 PS of power at 10,000 RPM and 14.2 Nm of peak torque.

Both the riders start on the mark of three horns. The Yamaha R15M takes the lead leaving its adventure tourer rival behind. The Xpulse 200 4V reached triple-digit speeds but failed to beat its fully-faired opponent in round one. The Yamaha YZF-R15M won the first round with ease.

Who do you think shall win this battle?
The riders decided to swap their bikes to keep the results fair and accurate. The riders set off once again on the mark of three horns. With the lighter ride astride, the Xpulse 200 4V takes the lead immediately. The motorcycle remained ahead of the R15M till mid-race. Due to its better top-end performance, the R15M overtakes the Xpulse 200 4V and wins the second round.

The weight advantage of the rider helped the R15M win the first round with ease. But as they swapped their bikes in the second round, the Xpulse 200 4V impressed the rider with its initial acceleration and mid-range power delivery. But, The R15M, with its better aerodynamics and impressive top-end performance, won both the drag races.
