Find out if the new Yezdi Scrambler is more fuel-efficient than the Himalayan
One of the most renowned names of the motorcycling world from the bygone era, Yezdi has returned to the Indian market with not one or two but three all-new motorcycles.
2022 Yezdi Scrambler Real-World Fuel Efficiency Tested And The Results Are Impressive
- Year: 2022
- Make: Yezdi
- Model: Scrambler
- Displacement: 334 cc
- Price: INR 205000
Out of the three motorcycles, the Yezdi Scrambler seems the most promising and unique model, as it currently has no direct competition, thus making it even more unique.
Much has been talked about the visual appeal of the Yezdi Scrambler.
However, there is one thing that potential buyers would want to know about – how far it can go using a litre of fuel in the real world? Amit Dwivedi from “Power On Wheels” rode out a Yezdi Scrambler to its heart in real-world traffic conditions and has posted impressive fuel economy statistics.
How Was The Test Done?
The video started with Amit filling the fuel tank of the Yezdi Scrambler up to its brim. After that, Amit decides to ride the motorcycle in a mixed riding environment of traffic-clogged intra-city streets and an open patch of Delhi-Meerut highway.
While riding, Amit finds that the instrument console of the Yezdi Scrambler was calibrated to display in miles, rather what is the norm in India, i.e ‘kilometre’ mode.
It means that the instrument console was displaying the speed in mph and distance covered in miles. On his mileage test, Amit rode for 41.8 km in total.
Yezdi Scrambler Fuel Efficiency Final Result
Tank full to tank full test was done to find out the accurate efficiency
After riding on both city and highway roads for 25.2 miles (41.8 km), Amit came back to the same petrol pump from where he started his ride. He decides to fill the fuel tank to its brim again. It is when he realized that the motorcycle consumed 1.44 litres of fuel.
That means the Scrambler covered 41.8 km using 1.44 litres of fuel, thus resulting in a fuel efficiency figure of 29.2 km/l.
Is the Yezdi Scrambler Really Fuel Efficient?
He finally returned to refuel the motorcycle
The Yezdi Scrambler is powered by a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 334cc engine, which produces a maximum power output of 29.1 PS and a maximum torque output of 28.2 Nm. For a performance-oriented motorcycle with a 300cc+ engine, the fuel efficiency of 29.2 km/l is a very decent figure.
We can see in the video that Amit rode the motorcycle in real-world riding conditions, which included controlled riding in city traffic conditions and throttled-out riding on open roads of the highways. So, if you consider the mixed riding conditions under which the Yezdi Scrambler was put through, the motorcycle has proven to be pretty fuel-efficient for the performance it offers.
Do you consider 29.1 km/l as fuel-efficient for the Yezdi Scrambler? Do let us know in the comments below.
