The Contenders
125cc bikes offer a good balance between power and fuel economy
The Raider 125 is the newest offering from TVS Motors, which uses a 124.8 cc single-cylinder, 3-valve engine that churns out about 11.2 bhp of peak power at 7,500rpm and 11.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox.
Hero Motocorp launched the Glamour Xtec 125 in June 2021 with a long list of features. The Glamour Xtec uses a 124.7 cc, single-cylinder, Air-cooled, 4 – stroke, fuel-injected engine that produces 10.7 Bhp of peak power at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox.
The Honda Shine SP 125 is the oldest contender amongst the trio. The SP 125 uses a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke, SI Engine that produces about 10.8 PS of peak power at 7,500 rpm and 10.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox.
