Among newer used cars, vehicles with V-8 powertrains are the biggest victims, experiencing significant dips in resale value recently. But it isn’t just gas-guzzlers taking the hit. Some efficient models are suffering, including a performance hybrid and a few fuel cell electric vehicles, hindered by limited hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
Those are two takeaways from used-car sales data provided to us by our partners at IntelliChoice. Their sample set looks at secondhand vehicles from model years 2018 to 2020 and how much they’ve sold for over the last six months.
