MG Motor India has rolled out the first unit of MG Comet EV from its Halol plant in Gujarat. This upcoming small electric car is expected to be launched on April 19.

Speaking about the MG Comet EV, the upcoming small electric car from MG Motors is built on the globally acclaimed GSEV platform, and flaunts a very compact yet innovative and futuristic design language.
Thanks to its compact footprint, the MG Comet EV is said to be very manoeuvrable on tight and congested roads. It is also worth mentioning that the MG Comet EV is touted to be very spacious despite its compact footprint and this spaciousness is credited to its GSEV platform.
On top of that, MG Motor also claims that there are more than 1 million cars globally that use the GSEV platform – Giving further assurance to new electric car buyers in India.
MG Motor also gives special emphasis on the safety of the GSEV platform and claims that the platform uses a solid steel frame for a strong foundation along with 17 hot stamping panels.
In terms of powertrain, the MG Comet EV is expected to come with a 17.3kWh battery pack and a single electric motor. We also expect this powertrain set-up to enable 250 kilometres of range on a fully charged battery pack.
