Czech carmaker Skoda has revealed details about the upcoming fourth-generation Skoda Superb, which will make its global debut later this year in November. The fourth-gen Superb is expected to make its way into India in 2024.
The fourth-generation Skoda Superb will be offered with multiple petrol and diesel engines along with a plug-in hybrid. The last of these powertrains is a first for the Superb, while the plug-in hybrid is limited to the estate version.
The two pure petrol models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. In base form, the engine pushes out 204bhp with the more powerful variant offering up 265bhp.
A mild hybrid petrol is also being offered which sports a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 148bhp that is aided by a 48V electrical system. Like the base petrol, the mild hybrid sends power to the front wheels.
In the plug-in hybrid version, the maximum output with the 1.5-litre turbo engine and electric motor is limited to 201bhp. The plug-in hybrid variant like the mild hybrid sports a front-wheel drive setup and offers 100km of EV range.
There are two diesels on offer, both powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder oil burner. In base guise, the Superb diesel is a FWD car with 148bhp on tap. The 4×4 version sports a more powerful version of the engine which churns out 190bhp.
The new fourth-generation Superb is slightly longer (43mm) and taller (12mm) than its predecessor but is also slightly slimmer (15mm). The headroom for the front seats has increased by 11mm while the same at the rear seats are up by 6mm.
The 2024 Superb is 4,912mm long, 1,849mm wide and 1,481mm tall. The new Superb’s wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,841mm long. The Superb’s trunk space has risen by 20 litres to 645 litres.
The camouflaged images of the new 2024 Superb supplied by Skoda show off a new 3D grille flanked on either side by slimmer LED headlights. The lower section of the front bumper sports slim air intakes on each side, along with a central air intake.
From the sides, the new Skoda Superb features larger overhangs along with a long sharp line that runs across the sides of the car. The Superb also sports new alloy wheels and new C-shaped LED taillights.
The interiors of the new Skoda Superb include a brand new 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, the largest ever fitted to the car. The gear lever has also been moved to the steering column opening up more room on the central console.

The 2024 Skoda Superb sees the former Czech flagship get new powertrain options including a mild-hybrid setup for the first time. The updated exterior and interior will be revealed in November when Skoda reveals all.
