Cycle and Carriage has signed an agreement with Great Wall Motors to distribute ORA’s lineup of electric city cars in Singapore.
ORA’s Good Cat will be the first model made available for sale locally. Styled by former Porsche designer Emanuel Derta, it closely follows the “Retro Futuristic” concept, achieved through the integration of advanced EV technology with timeless classic design cues.
Inside, you’ll find a modern dashboard equipped with a suite of high-tech features, that includes a large touchscreen infotainment system, electric and memory seats, automatic parking capabilities and 360 camera. The list of active safety features is equally strong, with intelligent evade, emergency lane keeping, and forward collision warning with braking assist.Singapore is the eighth international market to officially receive the ORA lineup of cars. The decision to have representation in our market stems from the increased EV adoption rate in recent years. This is a direct result of government subsidies and the rapid improvements in charging infrastructure locally.

Cycle and Carriage’s partnership with GWM reflects a common expectation towards the proliferation of greener vehicles in Singapore and an opportune time to ride on this wave. The Good Cat also suits the current demographic of early EV adopters – these tend to be younger adults who have higher disposable incomes.Almost a quarter of them converted to EV because of lower ownership costs and fuel expenditures (such as lower car tax, lower maintenance and energy costs, etc.). A significant proportion of them also stated that the sustainability agenda is one of their motivations for buying an EV. Another reason includes a better driving experience, with EVs providing a more silent ride and better acceleration compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

Adoption of green transport is one of the agenda in the Singapore Green Plan 2030. In view of the cessation of new ICE vehicle registrations by 2030, ORA will continually introduce their complete lineup of vehicles leading up to 2030.
We’d be reviewing the ORA Good Cat in due course, so do stay tuned for our upcoming in-depth review!
